2020 has been a challenging year for many of us, experiencing constant change and unusual restrictions emanating from the global pandemic. This is an opportunity to get out into a wild space early in the New Year, engage our hands in some bushcraft activities and engage our hearts by reflecting on hope in 2021.

“Wilderness is not a luxury, it is a necessity of the human spirit” – Edward Abbey

Based at a camp in the heart of the forest, with a maximum group size of 10 participants,  everyone  will be encouraged to try a range of bushcraft activities necessary to make fire.

We will hike in to the forest, tune in to being present and grab a hot cup of something to get us started. We will learn to forage for materials and use wilderness blade skills to prepare them for fire-making. After a hot lunch cooked on the open fire we will get cracking with various methods of fire making and fire-lays!

Lunch is included and will be cooked on the open fire in camp. We will be outdoors all day, and learning to stay warm while working around camp. Hot water for beverages will be supplied via the camp kettle throughout.

During the day there will be opportunity to pursue some valuable hope building soul-care exercises using bushcraft activities as a personal focal point.

Here’s to finding a true path into 2021!
